Healing Properties of…A Story Circle
Date: Saturday May 2, 2026
Time: 10am- Noon
Fee: FREE / registration required / donations gratefully accepted
Location: 482 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, VA 22578
Description: Join us for a coffee, a snack and a story. Storyteller Rema Keen will talk about the importance of our stories and the healing power that lies in their telling.
We will gather to listen, reflect and to share, at your own pace and in your own way. You might be wondering, “But what if I don’t have a story?” Don’t worry, everyone has a story to tell. We all carry stories shaped by our lives and our experiences. Our stories tell us who we are and where we come from. They help us to understand the things that happen in our lives and to make sense of our thoughts. They help us to share the weight we carry.
Sometimes a story is shared in words, sometimes it begins by simply listening. Listening, as well as telling, can be a powerful catalyst in one’s own healing. Remember sitting around a table with family? Just listen. Listen to how the stories flow. They just happen. One story reminds someone of another story and that story reminds someone else of a story. That’s how easy it is. Remember, it is not a performance it is a conversation.
There is magic in feeling heard in a place where it is safe to speak our truth and our pain. No pressure to speak, no right or wrong way to participate, just a circle of people, a warm drink and a time to be together. Here, we begin to develop deep trust and friendship. We begin to heal deeply. Walls soften, hearts open and connection begins.
Come listen, reflect and share with us. This is fellowship, this is community, this is healing.

Healing Properties of…Medicinal Mushrooms for Well-being, Vitality and Longevity.
Date: currently being rescheduled…
Time: 10am- Noon
Fee: FREE / registration required / donations gratefully accepted
Location: 482 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone, VA 22578
Description: The “mushroom kingdom” is Earth's nervous system, a vast web of communication, nourishment and regeneration. Mushrooms gently guide the body back into rhythm and rest while encouraging cellular protection and renewal, immunity and gut health, and restores the body's capacity to think, feel and move with ease. Medicinal mushrooms boost clarity and stimulate energy within. As we connect to Mother Nature, we will set the intention to nurture, support and heal the body through her many gifts during a guided mushroom tea ceremony. We will discuss the opportunity of mushroom foraging in Virginia, present a culinary experience, and include ways to incorporate medicinal mushrooms in your daily life. While there are hundreds of mushroom species that possess therapeutic properties, we will discuss the most well-known medicinal mushrooms, which will include Reishi, Lion's Mane, Turkey Tail, Chaga, Cordyceps, Maitake and Shiitake.
